Reporter Rescues Young Girl During Earthquake Live Broadcast

In a terrifying moment during an earthquake in Turkey, one compassionate reporter bravely rescues a young girl during his live broadcast.

Yuksel Akalan is a reporter for A News in Turkey, and he was talking to the camera about an earthquake that had just happened in the area when a second one occurred. Then a nearby building collapsed, with many people fleeing the area in fear.

Yuksel and his cameraman started to run with other residents in the street while the camera was still filming, and that is when the reporter noticed a young girl and her mother in the road. The young girl was frightened, and Yuksel went to her to comfort her immediately.

He hugged her while she was crying and encouraged her to remain calm while he picked her up and helped evacuate her to safety. The kind act was recorded by Yuksel’s cameraman.

Then the reporter spoke to an emotional resident in the street that was covered in dust from the latest earthquake. What a terrifying and heartbreaking moment for all of those people to witness. And how scared all of them must have felt!

Those recent earthquakes in Turkey have been the deadliest earthquakes the country has seen since 1939. And more than 2,300 people in Turkey and Syria have died because of the earthquakes.

Thank goodness the reporter was there to help rescue the terrified young girl during the earthquake, but our hearts go out to all of the people who have lost loved ones in this tragic event. May God be near them and comfort them during this horrific time.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Survivor’s Inspiring Story After Horrific Dog Attack

There are moments that dramatically alter our lives forever, and sometimes, we don’t even see them coming. One evening, an event changed Jacqueline’s life in an unimaginable way while she doing something she dearly loved. That single instance led to a young woman fighting for her very life.

The dramatic rescue and recovery in this video may be hard to watch, but Jacqueline’s overcomer story is too inspiring to miss.

Jacqueline Durand, a 21-year-old college student in Texas, was at a house in a Dallas suburb taking care of two dogs. That night, emergency crews rushed to the residence after Jacqueline had been savagely attacked by two animals – a German shepherd mix and a boxer-Pitbull.

Jacqueline, according to the video, was trapped and pinned down by the two canines. The dogs proceeded to tear “off her nose, ears, lips, and cheeks to the bone.” Jacqueline said that during the attack, she “felt like she was gonna die.”

The college student had lost 30 percent of her blood and sustained nearly 800 bites to her body.

Jacqueline was rushed into surgery, which lasted for seven hours. Her parents, John and Shirley Durand, told the outlet that the young woman had to be “resuscitated on the trauma table” several times.

Despite the devastating and nearly deadly attack on Jacqueline, the young woman and her family are an inspiration, an example of love and survival.

Following emergency surgery, with her face covered in bandages, John told Jacqueline that her survival was an act of divine intervention.

“I just kept telling her that she was a miracle and that she was going to be restored,” John said.

Sixty days after the attack, Jacqueline left the hospital. The young woman now undergoes physical therapy. She is looking at dozens more surgeries. But somehow, through everything, she manages to keep a positive outlook and keep hope for the future.

"It's not fun to think about, and I also think about how amazing the doctors are. And so I'm putting it in their hands to help me,” she said.

Despite the horrific encounter, Jacqueline still has plans for a career with animals. She said that she might even want to be a dog trainer.

"The sky's the limit with her attitude, her survival instincts, her hope," John shared.

Praise the Lord that Jacqueline survived and has the love and support of her parents and long-term boyfriend. God has big plans for this young woman’s life!

James 1:12 “There is a blessing on the man who undergoes testing; because, if he has God’s approval, he will be given the crown of life, which the Lord has said he will give to those who have love for him.”

Veteran Anonymously Pays for Others' Medicine for 10 Years

You have to check out this heartwarming story of a veteran who anonymously paid thousands of dollars to cover the cost of other people’s medicine for 10 years.

Hody Childress was an Air Force veteran and farmer. And until his death, he was keeping a secret from the people in Geraldine, Alabama. 10 years ago, Hody walked into a local pharmacy in town and asked to speak to the pharmacist Brooke Walker.

“I assumed that he needed counsel on a medication,” said Brooke. “And that’s when he said, you know, ‘Do you ever have anybody that can’t pay for their medicine?’”

When Hody heard from Brooke that it happens all the time, this is how he responded. “Next time that happens, I want you to use this,” Hody said to Brooke as he handed her a hundred-dollar bill. And that was the first of many hundred dollar bills that he would give to the pharmacy anonymously to help cover the cost of prescriptions for people who couldn’t pay for their medicine.

When Hody passed away recently, the story came out of his generosity. And his children, Doug and Tanya, were not at all surprised by their father’s kindness.

“He was not a wealthy man, but he was probably the richest man on earth with his heart,” said Doug.

“Yes, he would say he’s building up his riches for eternity, not for here,” shared Tanya.

Hody was not a rich man and in fact, was nearly broke after donating more than $10,000 to cover the cost of other people’s prescriptions over the years. And once his story was shared, people from all over were either donating to keep the fund going in Geraldine, Alabama or were pledging to start a fund at their own local pharmacy.

Hody’s act of kindness sparked a wave of generosity that will continue after him. What an incredible legacy!

87-Year-Old Grandma Shows Off Baton Twirling Skills

Check out this amazing 87-year-old grandma who shows that she’s still got it with her impressive baton-twirling skills.

Donna Smolinski from Ohio is a baton-twirling granny and a recent video that was shared of her online shows that her hand-eye coordination has not gone away in her old age. She is still a pro when it comes to twirling a baton!

“She’s still got it! Look at her go! Look at Grandma go!” says the family member behind the camera, who is enjoying Donna’s performance.

What a fun sight! Donna is gleefully twirling her baton with such skill in her living room while she is in her pajamas, a cozy robe, and house slippers. But her performance is so good. It’s like she is in the middle of a stage performing for many people instead of just casually having a good time in her living room.

Her smile and laughter truly fill the room with joy as she twirls her baton all around. “Now, I gotta rest,” she says as she finishes her baton routine.

Donna’s grandson, Aaron Walston, shared the video of his grandma online that proves that even after all these years, she’s still got it! Donna was a majorette while she attended high school, and those moves are still with her after all this time.

May this be a reminder to us all that age is just a number. The things that brought us joy in our adolescence can still bring us that same joy, even in our old age. And sharing your skills and interests, like Donna is doing here with her family members, is a great way to spread joy to those around you!

God bless this baton-twirling granny and her sweet family, who cheers her on! And we hope that seeing her have a good time in this video was able to bring a smile to your face today.

Cancer Survivor Surprised on Jennifer Hudson

On the couch with the gorgeous talk show host, cancer survivor Terlisa Sheppard gets an amazing surprise from Ms. Jennifer Hudson!

Before sharing her own heroic story, Terlisa begins by recognizing Ms. Hudson’s courage and strength during the hard times that have come her way. That speaks to Terlisa’s humble and giving nature, which we learn more about during her interview with Jennifer.

Jennifer has invited Terlisa and her lovely daughters, Alexis and Alyah, to be her guests. Terlisa explains that she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998; she was 31 with a 2-year-old daughter and pregnant with her second. Jennifer says that she sees “the God in it,” because, 24 years later, Terlisa is still living and making memories with her grown girls. God is most certainly in it!

When asked how she handled the first diagnosis, Terlisa said that she was shocked but determined to fight for her children. Jennifer remarks that she is indeed a fighter. Terlisa will receive cancer treatments for the rest of her life.

She’s been living with metastatic cancer for 24 years! While she fought initially to be there for her girls, it sounds like she now fights to enjoy as many days as she can with them!

Jennifer commends the positivity that Terlisa and her daughters demonstrate. Terlisa shares that she decided to be positive, even when doctors did not offer her hope. She committed to live one moment at a time through three additional cancer diagnoses in 2001, 2002, and 2003.

Alyah tells Jennifer that her mother’s resilience and determination to live her best life inspires her, and Alexis praises Mom’s continued efforts to volunteer and give back to others even when she struggles daily with her illness. In fact, Terlisa mentors other cancer survivors, provides rides to appointments, and strives to help others on the same cancer journey whenever she is able.

Before ending her time with Terlisa, Alexis, and Alyah, Jennifer says that she’s been told they like the beach. They all confirm the rumor and share that their favorite is Cocoa Beach, which isn’t too far from Terlisa’s Orlando, Florida home.

Jennifer announces that she’d like to send the ladies on a beach vacation, and they are thrilled! The three will be spending six nights at a fabulous resort on the Turks and Caicos Islands, with airfare, activities, and food included!

Jennifer, exuding positivity and warmth herself, tells her guests to be blessed, keep shining, and stay positive. She states what they already know—God is with them, and she tells them to keep doing the beautiful things they are doing.

Ms. Hudson brought viewers a story of faith, miracles, giving, and love. And we sure do need more of those. She made the lives of those amazing ladies better, and she brightened the world just as Terlisa has been doing all these years!

“The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.” John 3:2

Family Dives Into Ditch to Escape Tornado

You have to check out this video of a terrifying situation one couple found themselves in with their dogs. The family ended up having to dive into a ditch to escape an oncoming tornado!

In the video, you can see the family running for their lives. A tornado is right near them and they are acting quickly to get to safety. “Baby, come on! Baby!” the man shouts to the woman as wind and rain are whipping all around them.

The couple decides to leave their RV thinking that it is more dangerous to stay inside than to seek shelter elsewhere. They ended up taking their dogs and jumping into a ditch as the tornado passed by them. What a scary experience!

But that last minute decision they made to leave their vehicle was the right choice.

“Cars don’t do very well in tornadoes,” shared Warren Faidley, storm survival expert. “They’re like toys. They’re tossed around and crushed and crumbled. As a last resort, if you can find a ditch, that’s gonna be a good option. I think in this situation, they probably made the right choice.”

The woman in the video is Allie Chapman, and she shared an update from Orange, Texas, the place where the tornado touched down.

“As you can see, we’re safe. We’re standing, we’re good.”

Then she proceeded to show the damage that was done to the RV park and its surroundings.

“Oh my gosh!” Allie repeats over and over as she takes in the scene of debris and destruction.

Thank goodness this family made the decision that they did and were saved during this scary event! And what a reminder to ua all that if we ever find ourselves in the midst of a tornado, it is imperative to seek shelter in a place other than a vehicle.

Woman's Emotional Reaction Learning Best Friend Named Baby After Her

A woman’s emotional reaction to learning her best friend named baby after her will leave you stunned and blessed.

Friendship is God’s way of creating a lifelong sister or brother. Friendship is one of the most beautiful bonds and blessings. We thank God for their support, their love, and their advice. Sometimes, we are so incredibly grateful there are hardly words to express how much they mean to us.

Morgan Shaw found a way to express how much Mireya meant to her. The moment was captured on camera. Mireya had arrived to visit her best friend, who had given birth to a beautiful baby girl. As Mireya sat down in a chair, she couldn’t wait to hold Morgan’s new bundle of joy. Then Morgan introduces her.

“Meet Juniper Maeve Mireya Shaw,” said Morgan as the camera is pointed at Mireya. At first, the words don’t sink in, but a split second later, Mireya is stunned and bursts into tears.

“What? What? No, you did not!” she exclaimed in shock. Mireya took her namesake into her arms and shed tears of gratitude and joy. I would be in tears too! Other viewers who watched this precious moment that went viral added their opinions too.

“To have or be a best friend that you love and trust so much your child is named in their honor is such a blessing,” one viewer commented. Another viewer shared how much it meant to him that a friend named a child after him too. He added, I’m a guy and had a friend named his son after me.

It was a wholesome feeling, not going to lie. He even said to me, even you yourself didn't realize how much you mean to everyone around you.” Can you imagine the magnitude of those words? What a beautiful way to show how much your friend means to you.

“By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers,” 1 John 3:16.

Gillian Anderson Gives Advice to Her 16-Year-Old Self

Adolescence, for most, was a time filled with fun, friends and a ton of mistakes. Most kids believe themselves invincible and that the world revolves around them. This type of faulty thinking can and does lead to plenty of blunders.

Luckily, most grow out of this self-obsessed stage and learn from past mistakes, agreeing to do better. However, what advice would you give your teenage self with the knowledge you have now?

A video posted to YouTube shows actress Gillian Anderson reading aloud a letter of advice she’d written to the 16-year-old version of herself. Her letter is both humorous, cutting and straight to the point.

She begins her letter by taking herself to task, calling out her past self for being totally consumed with herself.

“Dear Gillian, you are completely and utterly self-obsessed,” she reads. “If you spent a quarter of your time thinking about others, instead of how much you hate your thighs, your level of contentment and self-worth would expand exponentially.”

The X-Files star mentions that since her teen years, she has learned how to improve her self-esteem by doing things for others. Having learned this, she has concocted a plan for her 16-year-old self.

“I have signed you up to build homes for the homeless during your entire summer vacation,” she reads. “Your Christmas will be spent serving food at a women’s refuge and Easter is designated to reading stories in the pediatric cancer ward.”

Gillian also implores her past self to look beyond and expand her horizons.

She ends the letter with a bit of funny and helpful advice.

“P.S., follow your dreams, not your boyfriends,” she reads.

1 Peter 5:5 “And in the same way, let the young men be ruled by the older ones. Let all of you put away pride and make yourselves ready to be servants: for God is a hater of pride, but he gives grace to those who make themselves low.”

World’s Oldest Dog’s Secrets Revealed

No one enjoys saying goodbye to a beloved and faithful four-legged furry friend. Losing a pet is always difficult. Everyone would love it if animals would never age and pass away. Sadly, though, that’s not reality. However, there are some things we might be able to learn from the world’s oldest pet.

The Guinness Book of World Records recently named Bobi as the world’s oldest living dog. The ancient pooch lives in Portugal and is reportedly a shocking 30 years and 270 days old, according to the report from Good Morning America

Wow!

So, how has Bobi managed to live such a long life? Well, there are several things Bobi’s family credits for the animal’s prolonged and continued existence.

Bobi’s family points to his healthy diet, which does include human food. As far as the animal’s surrounding environment is concerned, Bobi lives a “stress-free life in the country where he’s allowed to roam,” according to the video.  Bobi's family adds that the ancient animal is never put on a leash.

As anyone would expect with a dog that has lived to see more than three decades, Bobi does have some physical ailments. The canine does have some issues with his eyesight and gets around much slower than in previous years.

While the elderly animal has slowed down, he still loves playing with other dogs and spending time with his loving family.

Congrats, Bobi! May your days be full of long, quiet walks, plenty of belly rubs and a ton of doggy treats. Hopefully you do not have to fend off any pesky felines in your advanced years!

Ukrainian Ballerinas Fled Home But Are Back on Stage

Russia continues its unprovoked deadly invasion of Ukraine. Images shown daily on the news highlights the death and destruction inflicted upon the European country. In addition to those innocent people killed in Russia’s assault, many fled their homeland for safety.

Despite everything they have gone through, one group of Ukrainians – dancers with The United Ukrainian Ballet - refused to let the brutality of war stop them from doing what they love, according to one YouTube clip. They are currently on a worldwide tour.

However, this comes after Russian forces began invading, bombing and destroying Ukraine.

The clip points out that one of the dancers, Oleskii Knyazkov, was set to star in a production in Ukraine last year. But things quickly changed.

“You don’t think about performing or something like this when aircrafts go over your house or you hear explosions,” he said

Another dancer, Vladyslava Ihnatenko, the clip mentions, fled with dance clothes and one pair of ballet shoes.

“We didn’t dance for a really long time because the most important thing was to save yourself,” she said.

While the group travels around the world, they still yearn to go back home to Ukraine. But they understand that with Russia’s continued assault on their native country, that desire is nearly impossible.

“Yes, you can't plan anything,” Oleskii said. “Maybe tomorrow everything will change. Will we have our home for tomorrow? You don’t know.”

The dancers with the United Ukrainian Ballet made their U.S. debut in Washington, according to the YouTube clip. They performed at the Kennedy Center.

What a heartbreak story about the realities of war. However, it’s also a beautiful example of the human spirit and the will to survive and preserve in terrible conditions.

US Championship Pairs Figure Skating Routine

Having a dear friend, a teammate or a significant other can make life much easier and more fulfilling. In Genesis 2:18, God stated that it is not good for man to be alone, so he created “him a suitable helper.”

In figure skating, like in life, two people can turn an awesome thing into a much richer, more beautiful experience. Figure skaters Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier showed just how stunning and awe-inspiring the sport can be as they claimed the U.S. national title with their dazzling routine.

As the clip posted on YouTube shows, the two athletes start off their routine by skating in unison. However, soon into their routine, Brandon launches Alexa into the air. She twists several times in the air as Brandon catches her without missing a step!

The crowd loves their breathtaking show of talent, hard work and elegance.

Not only do Alexa and Brandon manage to skate together in lockstep but around the 1:30-minute mark in the clip, they jump and land in unison!

Then, in what may be the most impressive part of their routine, Brandon launches Alexa up and forward near the 2-minute mark. She spins several times in the air before landing perfectly!

Throughout their skate, the two world-class athletes demonstrate their skill, coordination and their complete and total reliance on the other. For their routine, including their many jumps and twists, to be successful, they must trust the other, quite literally, with their life.

Their award-winning skate is a thing of beauty!

Following their routine, Alexa talked about her love for figure skating and her skating partner.

“As I get older, the longer I’m in this sport, the more gratitude I have for it,” Alexa said, according to NBC Sports. “After that music ended, I’m just thankful that Brandon’s by my side and I’m able to do what I love.”

‘He Gets Us’ Ad Shares Poignant Message of Being Alone

Feeling alone is a big fear for a lot of people in the world today. Believing there is no one available to turn to when life gets hard will only help to make a bad situation even worse. People are looking for someone who cares and loves them.

One video posted to YouTube, that is a part of the $100 million “He Gets Us” campaign, wants people to understand that they are not alone.

The short, 15-second video features black-and-white images of people alone in positions that indicate saddened, distressed and upset states. As the photos roll, a bell chimes every few seconds.

About three-fourths of the way through the video, text appears that reads, “Jesus felt alone, too.” More text is then displayed and reads that “He gets us.”

At the end of the video, viewers are encouraged to visit HeGetsUs.com. On the website, there are several articles that explore a variety of topics, including hope, struggle, justice and politics as they pertain to the life of Jesus.

On the About Us section of the website, it states that the objective of the He Gets Us campaign is to “reintroduce people to the Jesus of the Bible and his confounding love and forgiveness.”

In an interview with CNN, Jason Vanderground, the president of HAVEN and one of the people behind the He Gets Us campaign, reiterated those sentiments.

“We are trying to unify the American people around the confounding love and forgiveness of Jesus,” he said.

The About Us section on the site goes on to mention that “his words, example, and life have relevance in our lives today and offer hope for a better future.”

As CNN points out, several of the He Gets Us ads are expected to run during Sunday’s Super Bowl game between the Chiefs and the Eagles.

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear you not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.”

18-Year-Old Virginia Ice Skater’s Championship Routine

Much like life, sports have many ups and downs. Competitors fall and they pick themselves back up and keep moving forward. That’s one of the many reasons sports are considered a great learning and teaching tool. One young man did just that as he overcame mistakes to win a skating title.

Ilia Malinin, a teenager from Virginia, is a figure skating champion. According to NBC Sports, the 18-year-old recently won his first U.S. figure skating title.

In order to come away with the win, the teenager had to overcome adversity. Video of the winning routine shows the young man beginning by skating back and forth, slowly picking up speed to attempt his first jump.

However, at approximately the 1-minute mark in the clip, that first jump does not go as planned. Instead of landing, the 18-year-old falls to the ground. But the teenager picks himself up and goes on skating as if it never even happened!

Ilia does not let this mistake stop him from going forward and giving a terrific performance. He attempted and landed several other jumps that had the television commentators voicing their approval. The audience also loved his routine, clapping and cheering throughout!

While his routine was not perfect, Ilia still went on to win the competition.

The young man, in an interview following his routine, mentioned learning from the past and mistakes.

“I was really so confident, and I think I sort of overthought everything and tried to get ahead of myself,” he said. “But I think it’s all right. You always learn from your experiences.”

What a wise and discerning young man!

There is no doubt this young athlete has a bright future, which likely includes competing at the next winter Olympics.
